I heard of this project at Miss Lazy’s Blog and thought it could be not only fun but useful. Here is how this works: you must show one object a week for 52 weeks, and it has to be something that tells a bit about yourself.
I know, 52 weeks equals 52 objects! Seems impossible, huh? Maybe it is, specially if each object has to be related to your personality, your tastes. But you know what, in the end of theses 52 weeks, you are going to know a whole lot more about your style. It’s a long shot for really getting to decipher your inner code, the one your should bring out when decorating your home.
At first I thought I should only show home related objects, but you know what? One’s style is shown everywhere: shoes, jewellery, textiles, flowers, beauty products, fragrances… everything counts.
So let’s get started?
What it is
That’s Adelaide (holding Chiquinho), a hand made pottery that has been following us since our Honeymoon, more then 8 years ago.
Where it comes from
It came from a popular market in Natal, Northeast of Brazil
Where it is
“She” belongs to my lounge/tv room
Why it was chosen
because of its colours green and yellow (very Brazilian) as we were leaving Brazil and wanted to bring a piece of our mother land along :)
Adelaide is so special that she travelled from Rio to Bloomington inside Mauricio’s (my hubby) backpack. We couldn’t dispatch her as a regular piece of good – for God’s sake, we even gave her and her little boy names! :)
